Carmen with a Key

What if Carmen Never Became a Thief?

Kara:

I think everyone has played this game before. Soooooo, let's start. May I? What if ....... Carmen never became a thief? Laurie and I had been discussing this notion earlier. I'm interested to hear what everyone thinks. I'll post my opinion on this later, I just wanted to get the ball rolling, so to speak.

Belle Book:

I think either Carmen would have remained a detective or else she would have gone into some other line of work that offered her more challenges. I just don't know what line that would be.

Laurie:

Hmm... Well, as Belle Book said, she'd probably have stayed a detective. Maybe, she'd even work with Zack and Ivy. If Carmen got bored with Acme life and didn't become a thief she could have...I dunno, worked for the FBI? I'd say a spy, but even though the earlier versions of the game say that was her prior profession, she could only do so for so long. Then there's no one to spy on, ya know? Oh the possiblities. :) I'll wait for you to add your suggestions, though I do know some of them already. :)

Kara:

Thinking Carmen Yes, it's hard to find a niche for Carmen in society, isn't it? Personally, I believe that if she stayed at Acme, the place would have been shut down eventually. Besides making herself miserable in an unchallenging profession, I believe that Carmen would have caught all of the big crooks that Acme used to handle. And if we go along with Robert's idea of Acme being a government institution, well *snip* BUDGET CUTS and Acme gets shut down....... But, that's just me and my 11 doughnuts talking, kay? Carmen as an FBI agent...hmmmm....... Mulder: That Cancer Man! Running us into dead ends with his conspiracies and cover ups.....sometimes I just feel like throwing in the towel, Sandiego. Carmen: But, Mulder that's what makes it a challenge. What fun would there be in knowing all the answers? OK. I think I've lost another doughnut.......

Laurie:

*LOL!* :) See, Carmen could find challenges in working with the FBI. :) Of course, Carmen's not exactly as scientific as Scully- she did after all try to contact aliens! :) Hey, if I help you look for your missing doughnuts, will will help me find mine?

Kara:

Sure, are yours glazed? I'm positive mine are Boston Creme.. Yeah, Carmen could have fun as an FBI agent,,although she's no Scully....... Geez...Carmen and Mulder together...hmmm...they would make a nice couple there, don't ya think? *Kara gets her mind out of the gutter*

Scott:

Well, I am not so sure that Carmen would be a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, although the thought of her with Cancer Man just intrigues me to no end. The reason I say this is becuase the FBI is involved with investigations mostly related to the United States. Leaving the country is generally outside their jurisdiction. Thus, Carmen would more likely go for the CIA with its international dealings and investigations. Carmen is certainly not one to stay in one country for a long period of time. The problem with both agencies is that killing tends to be necessary a large number of times. Well, in any case, Carmen would opt for something that helps better herself. Whether it is the CIA, FBI, or the Intelligence Agency of Monaco (Where in the World computer game), if she learns something from it, she's there.

Belle Book:

I don't think you've lost another doughnut. Though I am laughing at your imaginary conversation between Mulder and Carmen. Still, Carmen's response to Mulder is the kind of statement I'd expect from her. Carmen would probably make a good agent on the X-Files, if she wasn't a thief.

Meg:

Interesting question. `:-P I think she would be miserable if she stayed a detective and didn't get enough challenges. She lives for it! But somehow I can't imagine her in any other job that a civilian would have. She's not someone you would think of as a "people person". And let's face it, there aren't that many jobs that give enough challenges as thievery. And it wouldn't just be boring for Carmen, Zack and Ivy might get a little tired as well! The Chief and Suhara would be happy though. I wonder....
